Somezakura - Buzenbo Tengu

Overview:

S-Rank Buzenbo is a Thunder-element burst DPS character, previously the best second teammate for S-Rank Tsukuyomi, she has now abandoned Tsukuyomi in favor of S-Rank Zenkibo’s Ultimate Skillchain which comprehensively improves her damage.

Her damage is smooth and stylish, and she feels great to play.

After the Synergy upgrade (CN 5.1) she went from being strong at lower tiers to dominating at the highest tiers, and she is currently the undisputed top Lightning DPS. Plus, you can get Somezakura’s SS cheaply with the first purchase bonuses; in terms of gacha costs alone, she’s significantly cheaper than Lightning Hodur, making her a better value.

Synergy evaluation:

Very strong Synergy. Although the numbers don’t look like they add much on paper, in actual gameplay it provides roughly a 50% overall improvement.

It grants the ability to deal extra damage during downtime, as well as a re-activation/restart capability when facing double boss stages. However, in single-target long fights, every time you exit Sakuya state you still need to wait for full Divine Grace and for the cooldown of the third skill. If it could reduce that CD by 2–3 seconds, it would be even stronger.

Sigil Recommendations:

• Slots 1, 3, 5: [Feathers in the Storm].
• Slots 2, 4, 6: [Acheron's Obol].
• Omega Sigils:
  • Replace slots 5, 6 with [Sword of Roland] or [Ambush of the Owl] depending on your needs.

Sigil Enchants:

The standard is 8 [Fierce Assault], 8 [Berserk], and 8 [Enraged].

If the third team member is not a dedicated Thunder support it’s recommended to slightly prioritize rerolling for [Thunder Blessing] over [Tactics Enhance].

If you feel you’re lacking Ultimate Skill charge, it’s recommended to get two points in [Loopback].

Aether Code Recommendations:

• Standard DPS Build: Use Blue 3 Aether Code (Scattered Sakura).

• Kata 2 (Sword Slash) Build: Use Red 3 Aether Code (Void Slasher) The damage output is higher than the Blue line, but it requires a lot of practice.

  • After Synergy the damage on the Red line is relatively higher, but requires a lot of practice and is not as stable as the Blue line.

Warp Recommendations:

• Slots 1 & 2: [Power UP: Melee] + [The Executioner] + [The Judge].
• Slots 3 & 4: [EM Flux] + [Telepathize Forcefield I]
  • You can also replace [Telepathize Forcefield I] with [Unfetter] to increase the startup speed of the opening Ultimate Skillchain.
• Slots 5 & 6: Prioritize [Evolution Particle III].

  • If you are supporting S-Rank Zenkibo choose [Current Decay]

  • Otherwise [Kinetic Mod] or [Armor Breaker].

Signature Functor (Shikigami - Seiranubume):

Fairly reliant on it, but if you’re just using her as a support character, you can skip it. The exclusive Functor optimizes her Divine Grace acquisition, downtime and speeds up the startup phase before each burst but unfortunately does not reduce Skill 3 cooldown

  • Fast 9-Hit Combo:

    3(activate Sakuya state)-122-AAA-111-AAA-222-AAA-3(finish)

  • Easier combo:

    3(activate Sakuya state)-11-AA-222-AAA-111-AAA-3(finish)

    • This second version is slightly slower; you can also skip the final 111 and go directly into Skill 3 for a faster rotation but slightly less buff time.

• Red Codes (Before Synergy):

  • The sword slash flow requires a lot of practice, when you have a Blossom Mark, first long-press the Normal Attack button to initiate the first “Kata 2: Disillusion”

  • When the red glow appears, release the Normal Attack and immediately long-press again to perform the next slash.

  • With 3 Blossom Marks, you can perform up to a 6-slash combo. If you perform an Extremity Dodge before starting the combo, you can press normal attack to perform a “Kata 2: Disillusion” that doesn’t consume a Blossom Mark. making it a total of seven slashes.

  • This is the limit. In one Sakuya state, you can perform the seven-slash combo up to three times. When you have no Divine Grace left and have finished all the slashes, you can use Skill 3 to finish.

Stat Boost Priority:

• Prioritize Skill 3, then Skill 1 and Skill 2. If you have extra resources they can go into Ultimate Skill and Normal Attack.

Team Recommendations:

• The optimal team is a dual-Thunder team with Buzenbo + S-Rank Zenkibo + S-Rank Kali /S-Rank Hera / Lingguang / A-Rank Verthandi.
  • For short battles prioritize bringing Hera to boost Buzenbo’s solo main DPS damage.
