Ingenuity - Linyu

Linyu showed a maturity far beyond her age even before becoming the capable assistant of Heaven Tower. While her peers enjoyed a carefree youth, Linyu and her sister, Yingzhao, lived a transient life, relying solely on Yingzhao's earnings from various odd jobs. Linyu witnessed her sister's constant struggle and longed to ease her burden, but Yingzhao always brushed off her own stress. Even so, on many late nights, a half-asleep Linyu would see her sister drag her weary body back home, only to fall asleep hunched over the table rather than risk waking her. Linyu knew she was too young to work, so she took responsibility for everything at home. She patched their clothes with delicate embroidery, cooked delicious meals from the cheapest ingredients, and made windchimes out of glass bottles. Through Linyu's efforts, their rented room finally felt like a "home." Perhaps it was then that the clever girl's interest in mechanical engineering first blossomed. That interest bloomed into a passion when Yingzhao brought home a copy of Research on Mechanical Engineering Restoration, a book that wouldn't sell at her bookstore job. Following the book's guides, Linyu built countless ingenious devices: a mechanism lock, a weather forecastor, an auto-watering device... Initially, her creations were just a way to pass the time between chores, but she found a new purpose after seeing how her auto-massage device could ease her sister's work fatigue. Her small inventions had a greater impact than she ever imagined. They not only made life more convenient, but they also brought smiles to people's faces, giving Linyu a sense of purpose and the genuine joy of helping others.
