Overview:
Gengchen is a Water-element Rage-type character who can both deal damage and provide support.
Her enemy grouping ability is top-tier. Her strength is average and she is now relatively outdated.
The Tian Yuan team doesn’t include Gengchen anymore, to the outrage of Tian Yuan fans. New players can use her as a DPS in the early game. In the late game, it is recommended to put her in a Tian Yuan team with Lingguang as a specialized Tian Yuan support.
She is the number one designated pick for Spirit Capture; having Gengchen and not having her is like two different modes. However, with the release of Water Heimdall, although her grouping ability is still in a league of its own, there are now more options, and she is no longer the only choice. Then Skuld was released, and now the Water team has also been powercrept.
She is currently having difficulty finding employment.
Sigil Recommendations:
Sigil Recommendations:
Balanced:
- Slots 1, 3, 5: [Undercurrent of the Depths] or other Water Sigil.
- Slots 2, 4, 6: [Spartan Battlecry] (recommended) or [Calydonian Rage].
- [Spartan Battlecry] is the easier, one-and-done solution.
- [Calydonian Rage] requires rolling an additional 2–4 points of [Burning Will].
- [Spartan Battlecry] is the easier, one-and-done solution.
Low Rage, High DPS:
- Slots 1, 3, 5: [Undercurrent of the Depths] or other Water Sigil.
- Slots 2, 4, 6: [The Lingering Shadow].
- This set is very Rage-starved, making full rotations slower and gameplay clunkier, but it offers slightly higher total output.
- You absolutely cannot roll for [Burning Will], or [The Lingering Shadow] won’t trigger.
- This set is very Rage-starved, making full rotations slower and gameplay clunkier, but it offers slightly higher total output.
Aether Code Recommendations:
- Support: Use Red 3 Aether Code.
- DPS: Use Blue 3 Aether Code.
Without her signature Functor, the damage difference between the Red and Blue lines is not significant. With her signature Functor, the Blue line’s damage is superior to the Red line’s.
Warp Recommendations:
Her warps are relatively generic. The only thing to note is that for positions 5 and 6, you can choose [Anger Management] according to your needs.
DPS Rotation:
It is recommended to cancel the recovery animation of Skill 1 with a dodge. The damage will still register, and you can use other skills sooner.
It is not recommended to use a dodge to cancel the recovery animation of Skill 2, as you might lose damage.
Complete the full normal attack sequence as much as possible to gain more Rage and deal more damage.
Initial DPS rotation: 1-dodge-2-3-1-dodge-2-3-1-dodge-2-1-dodge-2-3-1-dodge-2
.
Stat Boost Priority:
It is recommended to prioritize upgrading Skill 3, then Skill 1 and Skill 2 equally. Finally, if you have extra resources, consider upgrading her Ultimate and Normal Attack.
Team Recommendations:
Currently, it is only recommended to put Gengchen in a Water team. Putting her in other teams is a complete waste.
In a Mengzhang team, Mengzhang + S-Rank Shu + A-Rank Verthandi is better.
In a Jinwu-Lingguang team, Artemis or Ek Chuah are stronger supports.
In a Wind team, Yingzhao doesn’t use her anymore.
Now she’s just like in the story, a completely missing person.
