Overview:

S-Rank Tsukuyomi (Shinri) is a Thunder-element burst DPS with a very high operational ceiling. Her single-target and multi-target damage are both good with a complete kit and high-quality teammate selection.

Her weaknesses are a relative lack of Rage pre-synergy, non-ideal multipliers limiting her damage, and the ease of missing hits against some small-sized enemies.

After getting her Synergy Module to Level 3, this weaknesses are substantially remedied, so if you want to play Tsukuyomi, it’s recommended to get her to SS rank with her Level 3 Synergy Module.

Synergy evaluation:

After her Synergy Module update, Tsukuyomi’s exclusive Functor and damage multipliers were improved, ameliorating her Rage shortage and allowing her to better utilize buffs from Warps and S-Rank Hera.

Overall, this Synergy update purely increased her damage output without significantly optimizing her mechanics.

The damage increase is about 70% to 80%. If you want to play her, it’s best to max out her Synergy Module to Level 3, otherwise her effectiveness is greatly diminished.

After the Synergy update, you can completely discard the Yellow line; only the Red line is recommended, with or without her exclusive Functor.

After patch 4.0 (CN) the already not-so-strong Tsukuyomi-Somezakura Ultimate Skillchain is now even more irrelevant since her apprentice Buzenbo ran off with S-Rank Zenkibo. Jeez! Not only did she run off, she even got stronger.

Sigil Recommendations:

  • With Exclusive Functor:
    • Slots 1, 3, 5: [Eternal Chariot].
      • The 40% Skill DMG from the set addresses her shortcoming in the Skill DMG multiplier category and significantly increases her damage.
    • Slots 2, 4, 6: [The Lingering Shadow] or [Calydonian Rage].
      • With [The Lingering Shadow], you need to have two or more [Waves of Rage] enchants, otherwise you will get stuck on Rage. (If your teammates are S-Rank Hera and A-Rank Verthandi, and you use the yellow M.E.O.W. Me-Yow, you only need two [Waves of Rage]).
      • [Calydonian Rage] is older but fits Tsukuyomi well. Its damage is relatively lower than the first option, but you won’t need any [Waves of Rage] enchants with it.
  • Omega Sigils:
    • It is recommended to use a 2-set of [Feathers in the Storm]. See Build tab for alternatives.

DPS Rotation:

  • Red Aether Codes:

    13231(or dodge Attack)3

  • Yellow Aether Codes:

    13233

Note that with the exclusive Functor, using the third Skill 3 (Thunder: Out of the Blue Move III) when you have over 80 Rage will yield higher returns. With the Red Aether Code line, consuming the Seal of Thunder with the third Skill 3 grants an additional Thunder DMG bonus.

Therefore, if you cannot continuously apply Seal of Thunder, you don’t need to intentionally consume it with the second use of the third Skill 3. Instead, you can cast it quickly to get the full benefit from the first Thunder DMG bonus.

Tsukuyomi requires the player to have a certain level of proficiency with her combos and boss mechanics, otherwise her effectiveness will be greatly reduced.

Stat Boost Priority:

  • Prioritize upgrading Skill 3, followed by Skill 1 and Skill 2. If you have extra resources, you can choose to upgrade the Ultimate Skill and Normal Attack.

Tips:

  • When using the third part of Skill 3, quickly activate a teammate’s solo Ultimate. This allows you to finish the Skill 3 animation during the Ultimate’s time stop and gain invincibility frames.
  • The first and second parts of Skill 3 have some movement. Against some bosses, being too close can cause your attacks to miss.
    • When using the third part of Skill 3, especially against small bosses, it’s recommended to dodge backward once before casting the skill. This helps ensure the boss takes the full damage without missing hits. (Some hits might still miss, but it’s much better than missing all of them).
