Overview:

Kuninotokotachi[1] (Jin-ei) currently has two mainstream playstyles. One is the skill-based playstyle, which requires her exclusive Functor, and a nuke build, which does not require her signature Functor and can use a generic 5-star one instead. Don’t play the nuke style anymore; it’s completely useless now.

Skill-based playstyle: The personal investment requirement for Jin-ei is relatively lower than the nuke playstyle. Additionally, after Synergy, her skills are strengthened by about three times, making her almost evenly matched with a Synergized S-Rank Tsukuyomi in terms of strength.

She is also the easiest standard pool modifier to get to SSS (you can exchange for 2 copies in the Recurring Dream shop, so you only need to pull 3 more copies to reach SSS. Jinwu is not counted as she was an event reward and not a permanent one), making her very worthwhile for new players to build in the mid-game.

After Synergy, the skill-based playstyle is also divided into two types:

  1. Only using Wind (Earth-Heaven) ninjutsu;

  2. Alternating between Wind and Physical ninjutsu (Earth-Heaven, Heaven-Heaven).

Using only Wind ninjutsu is the most straightforward method, where you give up the cooldown reduction from the 2nd Red Aether Code and only take the damage bonus from the 3rd Red Aether Code.

However, if you alternate between Wind and Physical Ninjutsu, you can benefit from the cooldown reduction of the 2nd Red Aether Code, which can greatly increase the frequency of your skills.

In actual combat, its damage ceiling is higher than the Wind-only style, but it is very dependent on player skill. Therefore, how you play should depend on your personal preference.

Synergy Evaluation:

After Synergy, Jin-ei’s skill-based build has reached a playable level. At low to medium investment, she is almost on par with a similarly invested Synergized Shinri. So, you can consider giving A-Rank Buzenbo back to Jin-ei and using the invincible Archaic Oath for Shinri.

If you want to play a four-element skill-based Jin-ei, that’s also possible, as long as you can remember the sequence and don’t press the wrong buttons. (Earth-Earth -> Heaven-Earth -> Heaven-Heaven -> Earth-Heaven).

Sigil Recommendations:

  • Skill-based build: The skill-based Jin-ei focuses on Wind (with her exclusive functor) Physical damage. Therefore, choosing sigil enchants and sigils is relatively more complicated.

    • Slots 1, 3, 5: [Barren Flower].
    • Slots 2, 4, 6: [Ambush of the Owl].
      • If you don’t have [Barren Flower], you can use [Gale Sovereign] as a substitute.
  • Nuke build: Choose between:

    • Slots 1, 2, 3: [Scale of Maat].

      • Jin-ei’s first and second skills cannot trigger the passive of [Scale of Maat]. So, if you want to get the full buff bonus during your Ultimate, you can choose to store three Skill 3s before casting the Ultimate. After casting the three skills, you can get the full passive bonus.
    • Slots 4, 5, 6: [Nibelungenlied].

      And

    • Slots 1, 4, 5: [Nibelungenlied].

    • Slots 2, 3, 6: [Griffins' Pride].

      • Provides a relatively higher crit rate and does not require a specific rotation, but the substats will be worse and the cost will be higher.

Stat Boost Priority:

  • It is recommended to only upgrade the third skill, as the other skills are mostly useless.

Tips:

  • You can choose the element of the Ultimate through chips, which greatly enhances her ability as a sub-DPS teammate. However, Jin-ei is now basically always paired with A-Rank Buzenbo for their Ultimate Skillchain (the Skillchain reduces Wind, Fire, Thunder, and Physical resistance), so the chip is generally not used.

  • The general rotation is:

Form Mudra -> Fill Divine Grace -> Cast skill (consume Divine Grace) -> Cast skill -> Form Mudra -> Cast skill (or Ultimate).
