Overview:

Oceanus is a Water-element, Traces-type character. His mechanics are simple and easy to understand, but his operational difficulty is high.


Synergy evaluation:

Currently, Oceanus’s strength after Synergy is not low, and compared to Zhiming’s water team, the cost is relatively much lower.

However, Oceanus is not suitable for players with clumsy hands or those who have just started the game. He is too dependent on boss interaction. If the boss’s attack desire is too low, the damage will also be much lower. Being able to trigger effects by dodging is very important for Oceanus.

If you really can’t play him, handing him over to the AI is also a good choice.


Sigil Recommendations:

  • If you are playing him solo and without the old man Marduk, it is recommended to use:

    • Slots 1, 3, 5: [Undercurrent of the Depths]

    • Slots 2, 4, 6: [Decree of the Waves].

  • If you are using his Ultimate Skillchain, it is recommended to use:

    • Slots 1, 3, 5: [Peacekeeper's Blessing]

    • Slots 2, 4, 6: [Decree of the Waves].

      • The strength will be much higher than the first set.

Aether Code Recommendations:

it is recommended for manual players to use the full Yellow line or the full Blue line.

The Yellow line has a higher damage ceiling and is simple and easy to master.

The Blue line is more flashy, stylish, and also has good damage.

  • It’s also worth mentioning that the AI should also use this Aether Code line, and plays it quite flashily.

Signature Functor (Herald - Moroklos):

The signature Functor adds a new mechanism and a bunch of buffs. Using it is highly recommended if you want to play him, but the return on Functor transcendence is very low, so it is not recommended to upgrade it.


Playstyle:

When playing this character, you need to pay attention to maintaining the Crit DMG BUFF from [Decree of the Waves].

You need to consume one Trace within 9 seconds. Currently, the ways to consume Traces are Skill 3 and the enhanced Normal Attack after a perfect dodge.

When using Skill 3, it’s best to use Skill 2 first to recall the scattered Tributary Ghosts on the field, otherwise it’s easy to have Tributary Ghosts all over the place and not get the full BUFF from Skill 3.

Recommended quick start combo: 1-Dodge-A-1-2-3. During this, remember to chain countless three-stage Normal Attacks to trigger the ‘Riptide’ effect to keep the Tributary Ghosts on the field. Currently, to maximize damage, you can cancel the ending animation of the three-stage Normal Attack with a dodge to reset the attack for the next one.


Team Recommendations:

Currently, two team compositions are recommended.

  • The first is without an Ultimate Skillchain but with the old man, and the third member can be a support like Lingguang or S-Rank Heimdall.

  • Second is with an Ultimate Skillchain and the old man, which has the lowest cost and the highest strength at low investment. There are two Ultimate Skillchains, depending on personal preference. Currently, testing shows that Enlil is slightly better than Apollo. It still has to be MAN-HELP-MAN. Of course, if you don’t have the old man, you can also bring S-Rank Heimdall or other generic supports, but the effect won’t be as good.
