Overview:

Mengzhang is a Wind/Thunder element, Divine Grace-type modifier.

His signature Functor gets stronger with more investment. His rotation is smooth and fluid, with a very high ceiling for manual control. Although he is a dual-attribute character, his main damage source is Thunder. Generally, Wind DMG increase exists to be converted into Thunder DMG increase.

At low investment, Mengzhang’s strength surpasses older S-rank characters.

The returns from high-tier signature Functors get progressively higher. It is recommended for players who enjoy combos to pull for him. Since he is a standard banner character, you only need to pull one copy, and you can get him to SS through the Recurring Dream shop.

Synergy Module Evaluation:

The Synergy Module is decent. Although the multipliers it provides are not high, the stacking mechanic is slightly optimized, and the restart speed is a bit faster. At low investment, you can just use the Yellow line. At high investment, the difference between the Blue and Yellow lines is not very large.

However, Mengzhang’s main issues are still not completely resolved. It’s still easy to miss damage against small-sized bosses, his teammate options are still very limited, and without Enlil, he cannot benefit from Marduk’s buffs. But bringing Enlil is like being down one party member, so it’s better to just honestly bring Linyu (Jade Weaver) + Skuld or Lingguang + Gengchen.

One more thing to mention: all-elemental damage bonuses are not converted by his exclusive Functor. This includes the signature Functors of Lingguang and Skuld, and Skuld’s exclusive Sigil set.

Sigil Recommendations:

  • Standard DPS build:

    • Slots 1, 3, 5: [Dragon of the Desolate Sea].

    • Slots 2, 4, 6: [Acheron's Obol].

      • Alternatively, [Ambush of the Owl] can be used for slots 2, 4, 6, but its ceiling is lower than Acheron’s Obol.
    • Omega Sigils: Choose between

      1. Versatile, best when Lingguang is in the team:
      • Slots 1, 3: [Dragon of the Desolate Sea].
      • Slots 2, 4: [Acheron's Obol].
      • Slots 5, 6: [Ambush of the Owl] or [Griffins' Pride].
      1. High Wind→Thunder conversion, for high investment and no Lingguang:
      • Slots 1, 3: [Dragon of the Desolate Sea].
      • Slots 2, 5: [Gale Sovereign].
      • Slots 4, 6: [Ambush of the Owl].

If the entire team has high transcend signature Functors, consider replacing [Dragon of the Desolate Sea] with [Feathers in the Storm], as Mengzhang’s Crit Rate will overflow, reducing [Dragon of the Desolate Sea]’s value.

Sigil Enchants:

With a 1+2 signature Functor, the Wind DMG to Thunder DMG conversion ratio is 1:1.1. Therefore, with a 1+2 signature Functor, you can focus on Wind DMG for enchants. The higher the Functor tier, the higher the returns. Note that all Attribute DMG bonuses are not counted for the conversion.

Aether Code Recommendations:

For DPS builds, the difference between the Blue and Yellow lines is not very large at low investment.

When using the 5-star generic Functor, the Blue line has higher damage than the Yellow line.

For speedrunning, the Blue line is relatively better than the Yellow line. The Yellow line is suitable for scenarios where you can continuously maintain Divine Grace for sustained damage output.

DPS Rotation:

Divine Grace stacking: 2AAAA11AAAA1AAAA1.

After reaching full Divine Grace, enter Thunder DMG Stance (Move stance).

After entering Thunder DMG Stance, there are two types of combos:

  1. Double Thunder: 311 1

  2. Triple Thunder: 31 11 1

(a space indicates a pause, no space means continuous presses).

You can choose Triple Thunder, or use Double/Triple Thunder depending on the Divine Grace situation.

After entering Thunder DMG Stance:

The Blue line combo is:

  • 3111-211-21-3111 or 31 11 1-21-31 11 1

The Yellow line combo is:

  • 31 11 1-211-31 11 1-211-31 11 1

Stat Boost Priority:

It is recommended to prioritize upgrading Skill 3, followed by Skill 1 and Skill 2. If you have extra resources, you can choose to upgrade his Ultimate and Normal Attack.
